The Port Douglas restaurant, popular with both locals and tourists, recently won bronze in the Hostplus Awards for the second year in a row for best contemporary restaurant.

This success comes in addition to winning best restaurant for North Queensland and Northern Territory for three years in a row.

Co-owners Rhys Bawden and founder Bill Conway have continued to develop the business since 1995 and have been amazed just how the business and its popularity has grown.

“To know that in our 30th year of trading, we’re still getting it right, is incredible,” said Mr Bawden.

“This is a true testament to our team and to our loyal and incredibly supportive customers which we regard as family,” he said.

“It’s been a big year and now to top it off with this, we’re humbled.”

The Salsa Bar and Grill team fully intend to continue with their efforts in providing great food and service to the public and hope to go at least one step further next year with either a silver or gold award.
