The 11-year-olds have performed well at recent school competitions.

The boys recently travelled to Barlow Park to compete at Trinity Coast North Athletics where they competed against other top young athletes from Cooktown down to Tully.

Competing at such a high level isn’t anything new for the young athletes and they showed that by placing in their events.

Hudson finished second overall in the 200m sprints while his brother Parker was second in the 100m sprint and one place behind his brother in the 200m sprint.

These results have now landed the young athletes a spot at the upcoming Queensland Athletics State Championships in Townsville from 13-19 October.

For the upcoming state championships, Parker will compete in the 100m and 200m sprints and will also be a part of the 4x100m relay squad.

Hudson will compete in the 200m sprints against his brother but will be in the 4x100m relay team alongside his twin.

Hudson will also compete in the tetrathlon which is a 100m/800m race and shot put and long jump.

The young Douglas shire athletes will compete against the best young athletes in the state now.

The boys are training super hard, looking to land a top-three finish in their events which will give them a spot in the state side and the amazing opportunity to compete at the national junior athletics championships in Canberra this November.

The boys will continue to train hard for states knowing what is at stake, now that the junior AFL season has wrapped up their entire focus is on their athletics training.
