Spook-tacular tide of terror
A ‘TIDE of terror’ has swept up the shorelines and onto the Port Douglas’ Surf Life Saving Club grounds.

Sea Circus Productions awakened souls from their graves, inviting them to a realm between living and ethereal worlds, where their spirits were spellbound last Saturday.
Collaborating with local performance groups PyroGlow Productions, Keep on Dancing, The Clink Theatre and harpist Loni Fitzpatrick, a group of 19 created an enchanting evening of theatre, music, dance and circus arts, showcasing local talents in mesmerising aerial acrobatics, contortion, acting, singing, harp playing, salsa, ballroom and fire dancing.
Through the afternoon, the atmosphere was bewitching with The Surfy Restaurant catering to the masses as DJ Postie from Audio Visuals, Dino’s Face Painting, Halloweeny lawn games and fancy-dress contests created a mystical realm for kids, adults and families to enjoy.
“Sea Circus Productions creates and hosts two core events for the community every year, with their ‘Treasured Tales’ showcase during Carnivale bringing the stories out at sea to life, while their ‘Tide of Terror’ celebrates the simple fun of Halloween,” said Sea Circus owner and performer Vanessa Carey.
“Further Sea Circus productions will be held at The Surfy/Surf Life Saving Club next year.
“We will also be performing and workshopping throughout Port Douglas and Mossman at community events and resort venues, sharing their passions and providing a service of entertainment across the region,” she said.
“For Tide of Terror 2 and Spellbound, we’d like to thank our sponsors and acknowledge the overwhelming support of the community, including The Surfy, Surf Life Saving Club, WindSwell Kitesurfing, Earth1, MattyC Sole Services, Douglas Sailing Club, the Douglas Gazette, 101.5 Douglas FM, Port Douglas Daintree Tourism and Douglas Shire Council.”
