After a long road to recovery the golf club has seen a surge in membership numbers and is busier than ever.

The golf club hasn’t just seen impressive growth in members but also in competitions for both junior and senior members around the club.

Club representative John Carney proudly said “we’ve seen tremendous growth for both men’s and ladies’ comps.”

The club recently held the men’s and lady’s foursome championships on Saturday, August 9 where they had many members compete in a 27-hole match.

The men’s gross winners were Troy Cox and Joe Taylor with a combined score of 115 and the ladies’ winners were Carly Jack and Kim (surname not supplied) with an impressive score of 138.

The club has several regular competitions, including their monthly medals, Stablefords and foursome championships, but have also expanded their competition format trailing shorter format and more social competitions.

The most recent one being a night golf championship. All participants played a much shorter round playing only four holes compared to the usual 18 holes. The competitors used LED glow-in-the-dark golf balls for a super fun hour of golf.

Mossman golf has also seen very strong numbers in junior golfers with the club recently hosting the junior open and having 67 participants compete over the day.

The club is always looking to continue to grow and continue to welcome both locals and visitors to the club, whether it’s to renew a membership or just for a social game.

“We have an amazing course and would love to see more people enjoy it the same way we do, whether you’ve played before or not,” Mr Carney said

“The club now looks to its next round of competitions that are hosted and is super eager to see everyone back out on the course,” he said.
