QCWA hall repairs
THE Mossman branch of the Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA) has been at the heart of the community for more than 90 years and thanks to the generosity of The Tin Shed, the group can now repair its cyclone-damaged hall and continue its much-loved activities.

Heavy rains from Cyclone Jasper left the front of the QCWA hall on Front Street badly damaged, with sagging timbers needing urgent replacement. The cost of repairs was a daunting challenge for the volunteer-run organisation, until The Tin Shed stepped forward with a donation of $4937.90.
“This support means so much to us,” said QCWA president Laurie Taylor.
“Our hall is the hub of our activities and, without it, we couldn’t continue offering the programs that so many in the community rely on,” she said.
“We’re so grateful to The Tin Shed for standing beside us.”
Tin Shed general manager Kyle Livingston was delighted that the funds were going to such a good cause.
He said their community grants scheme started in this format in October 2021 and 46 monthly grants had been given out, totalling $109,070.
