Port Douglas all set for a flavoursome weekend
MORE more than 10,000 guests are expected to attend Taste Port Douglas from across Australia and the Asia Pacific, when festival goers can expect a smorgasbord of events, unparalleled dining experiences, expert masterclasses, ocean-side parties and more.

The four-day program is from August 7-10.
Since 2013, locals and co-founders Reina and Spencer Patrick have been committed to celebrating Australia’s culinary landscape drawing Australia’s biggest hospitality personalities and talents to the Douglas Shire.
“We have been running Taste Port Douglas for nearly a decade now and we’re overjoyed to see what our home-grown festival has become,” Mr Patrick said.
“Every year it gets bigger and better with a spectacular lineup of events and masterclasses, hosted by Australia’s own impeccable culinary talent, both chefs and producers, as well as international chefs of Michelin-Starred pedigree,” he said.
This year’s event will show off the skills of 15 world class chefs, including three standout international talents: Roger Pizey, Pâtissier extraordinaire and executive head chef at Fortnum and Mason (UK), Ryan Clift, chef consultant for The Cave (Bali) and a regular on The World’s 50 Best Bars list, plus Michael Wilson, chef-patron of Michelin-starred Marguerite restaurant (Singapore)
Festival Village, at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, is the beating heart of Taste Port Douglas, from 10am-5pm on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10.
The ‘Long Lunch Series’ will welcome more than 600 guests to Market Park, where the sea-side long luncheons invite guests to dine beneath the dappled shade of the Poinciana trees and feast with sweeping views of the Coral Sea at Dickson’s Inlet.
The Takeover, running from August 8-10 across Port Douglas, Mowbray Valley and Palm Cove, presents an extraordinary series of restaurant takeovers with a chef talent, plus unforgettable rainforest dining.
The Masterclass Series will also be hosted daily from 11 am to 4 pm on the terrace of Harrison’s restaurant at The Sheraton Grand Mirage.
With views across the shimmering lagoon pools, the classes will offer a rare opportunity to learn from some of the industry’s most respected chefs and experts.
