Selections were conducted in the morning, alongside Kenfrost Homes premier and junior leagues matches in the afternoon, with organisers noting the combined schedule was necessary ahead of the school holidays and Easter break.

Preparation for the academy squads will begin in early May.

The junior Marlins team will travel to Brisbane in June to compete in the Tigers Cup at the Metropolitan District Netball Association. The squad will take part in the under-14 competition across a two-day event, which will form part of the academy’s development pathway.

Meanwhile, the under-18 team is preparing for an overseas trip to Christchurch, New Zealand, from 23 September to 1 October 2026. The tour will include matches against international and local teams, along with cultural experiences. Some players selected have been part of the academy program for up to four years.

In the lead-up to competition, training sessions will focus on court craft and match play, with players also encouraged to maintain fitness through gym work, ball drills and sprint training at their local associations.

The academy program will now shift its focus to preparation for upcoming competitions and international exposure opportunities.
