In what is believed to be the first woman in the role, Sarah Campbell succeeds Cameron Riches who moves to the Dubbo Turf Club.

Racing is what started Ms Campbell’s career.

“Racing is where it all began for me – graduating from UniSA and heading straight to the SA Jockey Club – so joining the Cairns Jockey Club really does feel like coming full circle,” she said.

“Thoroughbred racing delivers some of the most significant events this region sees and I’m excited to build on that momentum.”

Ms Campbell brings a wealth of knowledge from a diverse career spanning the SA Jockey Club, Adelaide United FC, South Australian Cricket Association, Cairns Regional Council, Football Queensland and, most recently, venue manager for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup 2025 in Adelaide.
