The Muddies have spent the last two months training hard and playing both home and away.

Now with only eight games remaining, the Muddies now get a rest over the next month before they round out their season.

Through the first 13 rounds the Muddies third grade side have shown some great signs winning some games comfortably and landing themselves fifth spot on the Cricket Far North ladder.

Over the last fortnight the third-grade squad has fallen to both their opponents but are hopeful that after the break they’ll be able to return to form and make a second half push for the finals.

Fatigue played a huge part over the last two games with both losses being by a comfortable margin, but the Muddies are sure after tweaking a few components of their game that they’ll be able to shake these results.

The third-grade team is on the same current win total as the fourth place Bhutanese Rovers, so with eight games remaining there is no alarm bells being rung around the club.

The fourth-grade Muddies unfortunately haven’t had a great start to their season and the Christmas break couldn’t have come any sooner for them.

The fourth-grade boys currently sit last on their ladder with a record of one win and 11 losses with their only win coming against Atherton by nine wickets.

While finals are a very distant possibility the fourth-grade squad still look to finish their season with a momentum wave and work their way off the bottom of the ladder and avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.

The Muddies now get a rest period until 11 January when both teams hit the field again and look to finish their seasons on a high, where one hopes to make a final push, while the other one looks to finish their season better than it started.
