The Muddies started their fortnightly campaign in forgettable fashion after a 65-run loss to Barron River in a high run scoring affair.

The game began with Barron River winning the toss and deciding to bat first. The Muddies started hot, taking two wickets for only 42 runs, but Barron fought back hard and finishing their 35 overs with a very impressive 9/186.

Keel Sorensen led the way for the Muddies’ bowling lineup with three wickets, while Captain Adrian Bannerman was next in line with two wickets.

The Muddies then struggled with the bat, losing two early wickets, making the run chase even harder, leading the Muddies to fall short.

Andy Fenwick finished the day as the Muddies highest run scorer with 33.

The Muddies bounced back for their second game against Mulgrave.

Like the week before, the Muddies bowled first, but were able to contain Mulgrave bowling them out for 87.

Cameron Adam showed out for the bowling attack, taking four wickets.

With a much smaller run chase in front of them, the Muddies still had a few jitters but were able to chase down the total and come away with the win. Cameron Williams finished with 39 runs and leading the scoring for the Muddies.

The fourth grade boys are still looking to find their first win. The Muddies fell short against Mulgrave, losing by nine wickets and lost against Norths by seven wickets.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Mulgrave were able to roll through the Muddies, bowling them out for 80, which Mulgrave were able to chase down with nine wickets in the sheds.

Zackeriah Faulkner led the way for the batsmen with 20, while Bryson Collins took the only wicket for the Muddies that day.
