Both the men’s and women’s Crocs sides played off in their week one finals matchups, while the Douglas Dragons have taken the week off to prepare for their grand final match-up.

The Port Douglas Crocs senior men’s team played in their qualifying final against the Centrals Trinity Beach Bulldogs at home for the Father’s Day game.

The Crocs entered this game winning their last 12 and eager to keep that winning streak alive to book themselves a spot in the 2025 AFL Cairns grand final.

The Crocs started off slow but worked their way back into the match, despite losing club legend Kye Chapple early on with a set of broken ribs and a punctured lung.

The Crocs fought their way back but unfortunately couldn’t get over the hump and went down 79-75.

The Crocs now go back to the drawing board and prepare for their preliminary final against North Cairns Tigers.

The Crocs women’s side have kept their season alive after a huge and extremely hard fought victory over the Cairns City Lions in extremely wet conditions.

The Lions started off the game dominant putting the Crocs on the back foot early, but the Crocs fought hard, leading by 11 at the end of the third quarter.

Despite a last quarter surge from the Lions, the women were able to take the hard fought 20-15 win. The Crocs now prepare for their preliminary final match against Centrals Trinity Beach Bulldogs.

The Douglas Dragons have had the week off after their impressive qualifying final win over Stratford.

The Dragons have spent their week at training sharpening up all the little details of their game as they prepare to take on the Dolphins again for the grand final.
