The shows will take place at BAR36 on 24 and 25 April from 9pm, with organisers describing the performances as part of the casino’s long-running entertainment program.

Lisa Hunt has built a strong following in Cairns, with previous performances drawing large crowds that often extended beyond the venue.

Her shows feature a repertoire of soul, disco and Motown, including songs made famous by artists such as Aretha Franklin, The Jacksons, Tina Turner and Stevie Wonder.

Originally performing in African American gospel churches in New York, Ms Hunt has gone on to tour internationally and perform at major venues and festivals across Australia.

Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with artists including Eric Clapton, Dionne Warwick, Brian May, Randy Crawford and Andrea Bocelli.

She has also toured or performed with acts such as Ronan Keating, Macy Gray and Tina Arena, and collaborated in Australia with musicians including Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Jon Stevens and Midnight Oil.

Her recording career spans international dance music and studio work, including collaborations with producers such as Jellybean Benitez and Frank Farion.

Hunt has also contributed vocals to European chart tracks and appeared in stage productions including Dreamgirls and Ballad for Bimshire.

The BAR36 performances are non-ticketed, with patrons able to attend on the night.

The anniversary forms part of broader celebrations marking 30 years of operations at The Reef Hotel Casino, with organisers encouraging audiences to attend early.
