Glamorous tropical catwalk
PREPARATIONS are in full swing for the annual NicNak Shed Fashion Parade which will be held at the Pullman Sea Temple Resort on Saturday, August 30.

This is the second year the parade has been held at what has proved to be a spectacular setting for this type of event.
“Watch the catwalk come to life in the tropical sunshine, framed by lush gardens and good vibes,” said NicNak Shed manager Jo Westgate.
“Milan, New York and London would be at a loss to find such an amazing setting for a fashion parade,” she said.
“Those attending will be entertained by our fabulous local models as they showcase stunning pre-loved couture, proving that fashion can be both glamorous and eco-friendly.”
Doors will open at 2pm and attendees will enjoy a glass of bubbles, plus a delicious canape tasting box on arrival. The fashion parade will start about 2.30pm, with three categories this year, including model’s choice, resort wear and evening wear.
Resort wear will feature Camilla dresses, with a total of 12 on the runway. These will be available to buy on the day via a silent auction, which is believed to be the fairest way to allow everyone to have a chance of acquiring one. All other outfits will be available to buy after the show.
This is the 14th annual NicNak Shed Fashion Parade, with 2020 being the only year that it wasn’t held due to Covid restrictions. In recent years, the event has been a must do for over 100 local ladies with some men also in attendance.
Proceeds raised go towards supporting the Port Douglas Community Service Network, which includes the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre.
Tickets are available at the
NicNak Shed, Port Douglas or by calling 4099 5518.
