This month until August 24, free mulch will be available to domestic customers at Killaloe transfer station between 9am and 4pm.

Commercial mulch will also be available at domestic rates during this period.

A council spokesman said mulch reduced evaporation, improved soil health, prevented erosion, assisted in weed control and aided in temperature regulation.

“By incorporating mulch into your gardening routine, you can conserve water, promote healthier plants and create a more sustainable garden environment,” he said.

The Killaloe transfer station is open:

Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5.30pm

Sundays from 9am to 5.30pm

Free mulch is available between 9am and 4pm only

The transfer station is at Lot 170 Killaloe Dump Rd, Killaloe.

“Please note mulch will only be provided where the customer can demonstrate they can suitably restrain/cover the load,” the spokesman said.
