Crocs have trophy in sights
AFTER a nightmarish season 2025 start for the Port Douglas Crocs seniors they are now the first team in the AFL Cairns A grade to secure a 2025 finals berth.

The Port Douglas Crocs senior team have been riding a momentum tsunami recently which has landed them 10 points clear on top of the ladder and currently only sit one win away from securing yet another minor premiership to add to their already impressive silverware collection.
The Crocs have had two massive wins over the last fortnight, starting off with a huge 127-point thrashing of the Cairns City Lions 141-14.
The Crocs dominated the entire match with Cairns City unable to find their first goal until the third quarter.
Port Douglas Crocs star Kye Chapple led the way forward, kicking 11 goals for the match, more than tripling the Lions score off his own boot.
After a huge week of training the Crocs seniors then lined up against their archrival and top two counterpart South Cairns Cutters.
Just like the game against the Lions, the Crocs came out firing and dominated from the first bounce.
The Cutters also couldn’t find their first goal until the third quarter, which led to the Crocs running away with a very comfortable 85-point win 110-25.
Kye Chapple, Callum Reid and Jacob Zborli all finished the game with three goals each. The seniors team now have the bye coming up and finish their season on the road against North Cairns Tigers.
The Crocs women’s team has also secured a 2025 AFL Cairns finals berth sitting 20 points clear of the fifth place South Cairns Cutters.
The women split their games falling short against the Cairns City Lions 55-15, but bounced back in very dominant style against the Cutters coming away with a comfortable 32 point victory 45-13.
Crocs young gun Luca Roulstone led the way kicking four goals.
The women now also get the week off to rest and recover and finish their home and away season against the ladder leading North Cairns Tigers.
