Car rental firm on the move
PORT DOUGLAS-owned and operated business Tropical North Car Rentals has relocated to Macrossan St in Port Douglas, in the Portico Building.
After two years at the Mirage Sunbird centre, director Richard Hewitson said he was excited to relocate to the heart of town, to increase business and also be more convenient to cater to guests of local resorts.
“What first started as Palm Cove Car Rentals back in 1995 expanded to Port Douglas in 2023,” he said.
“Our aim is to provide hassle-free rental cars with no hidden fees at competitive rates.
“We love working in Port Douglas because of the people and the ongoing support we receive from accommodation and resorts.”
The business provides car rentals and tour bookings and Mr Hewitson said he planned on expanding the business to include a niche market, but will not reveal details at the moment.
