Awards galore for PD Crocs
THE Port Douglas Crocs have won a host of gongs at the AFL Cairns awards night, including men’s coach of the year, men’s rising star and both most valuable players.

Senior coach Nick Salter was crowned best in the league, young gun Cayden Stabenow took out the rising star and Sam Fairclough and women’s captain Caity McPhee were the MVPs. Kye Chappell also won goal of the year.

After a roller coaster season, the three teams (senior men’s, senior women and men’s development) got together at home to celebrate the season it was.

The Crocs saw two teams make the preliminary final, just missing out on the 2025 grand final, giving the club plenty to both celebrate and build off.

The prestigious presentation night was held at the Sheraton ballroom where the top players and life members of the year were announced.

Two new life members were Margie Scott and Paul Scott and volunteer of the year awards to John Liddell and Mitch Brown.
Crocs midfielder Sam Fairclough was named the senior men’s best and fairest.
